Deadline for 9th & 11th to register is Monday, September 14, 2026.<\/span><\/b><\/span> There are NO exceptions to this deadline as the exam is now computer-based and College Board has a hard deadline for schools to register.<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Please see below for specifics on 9th, 10th, and 11th grade test date specifics.<\/p>\n

Nease High School will administer the\u00a0PSAT\/NMSQT\u00a0<\/strong>(Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test \u2013 National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test) to students in October 2026 \u2013 Final Date to be Determined<\/u><\/strong><\/span>. The purpose of the test is to give all students an opportunity to experience taking a college readiness test and identify students who might benefit from advanced coursework.\u00a0 The PSAT is also the exam that is used for 11th<\/sup>\u00a0graders to qualify for the National Merit Scholars Program.\u00a0Additionally, a score of 430 or higher on the PSAT Math qualifies as a concordant score for the Algebra I EOC and if you are an 11th grader and still need a concordant score for the ELA Reading Retake, a score of 470 or higher on the PSAT Reading & Writing will meet that graduation requirement.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

There is no need to register 10th<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0grade<\/em><\/strong> students, they will receive their test at no cost, through state funding.<\/span> However, if 10th grade students choose to opt-out please return PSAT-10th-Grade-opt-out-letter<\/a>\u00a0to Ms. Messenger in PH 225, or at the front office desk.<\/p>\n
