Extra Credit
Attend a deaf event.~Events are posted on the bulletin board in the classroom and include (but are not limited to) FSDB (Florida School for the Deaf and Blind) athletic games, church services w/deaf attendees & interpreter present. Call ahead to make sure event will take place. Attach a ticket stub, brochure, or show me a picture of the event. 20 points towards participation; limit 1 per nine weeks (4 total). Extra credit opportunities are listed below on the calendar. You will also find additional links and documents below that you may find beneficial.

Write or type about your experience. Include the information below in your paper. Attach a ticket stub, brochure, or picture of the event.

______ no more than two full pages written about your– new signs learned may be on a 3rd page
______ paper contained few errors of spelling and grammar was clearly understood
______ paragraph describing event (one paragraph only – activity, time, location)
______ (description of how you approached Deaf people, introductions were made & you gained attention appropriately
______ met at least one Deaf person (names & some personal information you learned)
______ information about your conversations
______ your reactions to the topics of conversation and overall environment using
specific examples
______ compare/contrast Deaf culture with your own culture using specific examples you experienced
______ included toward the end of the paper with the new signs you learned
